COLORADO SPRINGS TRASH THE DRESS: THE AFTER PARTY

Warning – this shoot may melt your eyes out It’s just that awesome. Jen and Dave called me a few years ago (2 to be exact) about shooting their wedding. They lived in Arizona and were going to be relocating to Colorado Springs. Jen was just awesome in email and I wanted to shoot them, and was thrilled they chose me as a match for their style. Fast forward a few years – and they wanted me to do their trash the dress session – which I call “the After Party” They said they like tattoos, have motorcycles, and wanted to incorporate it all I was so trilled to finally meet them, and they were even more rad-tastic in person then they were in emails

Of course, we get this shoot planned and the beautiful Colorado weather decided it was going to rain – we almost called the shoot twice. Jen and Dave said they were down with it, and we started shooting. Sure enough, the weather unleashed on us – and you know what they said? ”We don’t care, we will do whatever!” YES!!!!!

Regardless, this is one of my favorite shoots to date. Jen and Dave, thank you – thanks for being so awesome and trusting me with your fabulous shoot!

Jen is beautiful! And, I LOVED that she wore her motorcycle boots!

JENNY + LEVIY, ENGAGED! GARDEN OF THE GODS

You may remember Jenny and Leviy as they are our 2010 contest winners. I have talked to Jenny over the past few months, but had yet to meet her, until their engagement session. I should note that I feel like I already know this incredible couple since I know their love story, and have truly enjoyed learning about them.

Jenny is kind, sweet, loving, and gorgeous. Leviy is funny, hilarious, and just awesome. Together, the two of them are absolutely amazing and a ton of fun! It was a frigid day as we walked around Garden of the Gods (which was packed) and then we headed for some more alleys and architecture digs. I had a blast with them {and their SUPER cute pups}.

A super fave series. Jenny and Leviy met at the gym, and love to work out. I had to incorporate that in to the shoot somewhere. I told Leviy to do push ups over Jenny!

LAUREN + BRANDON, ENGAGED! DOWNTOWN URBAN ENGAGEMENT SESSION

It’s all about the click. In my business, I love that “click”. It’s the click that I get when I talk to someone, or meet them for the first time, and know that I LOVE THEM! Lauren and Brandon are that kind of “click”. They are both from Colorado but currently live in New York City. When I spoke to Lauren on the phone the first time, I knew that she was fabulous, fun, and my type of girl! I was SO excited that they chose me to shoot their wedding. So, they were in town for Christmas and we set up their engagement session. Seriously … these two rocked my little socks off! I truly LOVE them We had a ton of fun (on a very cold morning) wandering through Denver. Lauren, Brandon and I laughed. A LOT. They remind me why I love what I do so much everyday.

Fave. You two are such an awesomely amazing couple!

JEN + DION, EXPECTING!

One of the best parts of my job is the relationships that I make with my clients. I really do love my clients … and I really do feel like I get the best ones in the whole entire world. I met Jen and Dion a LONG time ago. I shot their wedding in the early days of KMP. They have remained good friends of mine. I seriously heart Jen as she is one of the sweetest and most caring people I know. She remains a fan of my work, and my updates, and everything in between. I LOVE her support for KMP! A few months back, they asked me to take their maternity photos. They were expecting a beautiful baby girl, who has now ARRIVED! I am so very excited for them and their newest family member. Since I didn’t get a chance to blog this session with all of the wedding craziness, take a peek. Jen is one of the most beautiful pregnant people ever, and her and Dion’s love for each other promises to make them amazing parents. Addison was born on October 15th. Welcome to the world Addison. Jen and Dion – congratulations! I am so happy for you!!

TAYLOR, SENIOR! DOWNTOWN URBAN SENIOR SESSION

NICOLE + GARIN, MARRIED! SHERATON DENVER DOWNTOWN.

It was an incredibly gorgeous day. Nicole and Garin were married at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in the Highlands. They, and 350 of their friends and family, gathered to watch them get married. When I first met Garin and Nicole, it was obvious that they were very in love. They are so warm and genuine, that photographing them was not only a pleasure, but easy. We got time to hang out downtown (on probably the busiest weekend ever in Denver), and grabbed some amazing urban shots before getting back on the party bus to head to their fabulous reception.

Nicole and Garin didn’t miss any details for their wedding … they had a monogramed theme that was carried through all of the details. The cake, the Ice Sculpture, the cups that the guests got to take home, it was all monogramed. The centerpieces were flowing and the guests were grooving

Nicole and Garin were having a traditional Catholic Ceremony, so she had her bridal party sign her shoes. Too cute!

I loved the way Garin looked at her when she was walking down the isle.

The Reception was at the Sheraton Downtown on 16th Street. They had an awesome Cocktail Hour that led in to the reception with AMAZING details.

The band played (they were amazing), and pulled Garin up on stage. He is an UBER talented singer. He sang, “Brown Eyed Girl”. So awesome!

And while Garin sung, the crowd went wild!

Nicole and Garin, I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon in Ireland! You are so Amazing! Thank you for EVERYTHING! Hugs!

NICOLE + GARIN, ENGAGED! LODO ENGAGEMENT SESSION

I have been talking to Nicole for what seems like forever now (really it’s been about a year). She and Garin live in Kansas City … which most of you know, is where I grew up before moving here 5 years ago. She told me about her and Garin, how they met, and about their amazing wedding day. I knew we were a match. Since, we have talked over email, and the phone, planning and organizing their big day. But, this was the first time I actually got to meet them in person! Let me just say … I am SO excited for their wedding this month. It’s such a small world … and come to find out, we knew a lot of the same places around Kansas City. It brings back some great memories The way Garin looks at Nicole is priceless. These two have a special kind of love. One I can’t wait to capture later this month on their wedding day. It’s going to be SUPER!
