I have been getting a lot of flack from some of my blog readers about no recent posts. So, I apologize for that. While the season is really winding down, and I am not shooting as many sessions, I am BUSY behind the scenes designing, and creating amazing wedding albums for my late summer and early fall clients.
I get lots of questions from other photographers about albums, which company I use, how I design my spreads, etc. So, the short answer to all of this is here. I have two AWESOME album companies that I use. Right now, there are SO many album companies to choose from, and some of them are rather gimmicky. I want my albums to be timeless … in other words … something that you will actually display on your coffee table, and something you won’t look back on in a few years and say, wow, that really went out of style. For this reason, I don’t design ‘faded backgrounds’ or collages. My images are displayed on white backgrounds so that your images do the talking! If you are a photographer, I recommend attending the WPPI or another type of album show (there was recently an awesome one here in Denver that was put on by MHP), so that you can find a book that works for your clients, target market, and photography style.
While album design can sometimes be a tedious process, it is SO rewarding when these books start getting delivered to my door. For me, it’s a STORY of the day. I LOVE reliving this story through the images. I have such a rewarding job. When I get to look through these books, it is like the icing on a cupcake. And that is GOOD
Next week, I’ll describe the Album Workflow Process further in detail.
{Since our season is slowing down, and we are searching for blog content, keep the questions coming. You can either leave comments here, or send me an email. I will do my best to answer these questions in an upcoming Flavorful Friday Post}
And, because I can just talk about these albums, here is Ashley and Scott’s 12×12 Leather Coffee Table album that was delivered this week. Seriously, it’s delicious!
As you can see, the seam of the book is virtually invisible. AWESOME!
Taking a picture of a picture here, so sorry for a little bit of bounce
