ALMOST 2!

I’ve gotten a few emails from some of you who faithfully read my blog.  For those of you who do, I apologize that I am SO far behind on it this year.  We have had some amazing weddings with uber fabulous couples and I haven’t gotten everything updated on the blog.  There is a good excuse though … this little one is almost 2 already!  I am not sure where the time has gone, but I sure LOVE her.  I am working a lot, but also spending a lot of time with the family this summer.  Here’s a sneak peek of the 2 year pics.

In other news, it’s that time of year again and we have been nominated for Denver’s Best Wedding Photographer by Denver 7 A-List.  Please check it out and of course leave us some love if you feel we are deserving :)  We’d love to hear from you!

IN RECENT NEWS…

I used to shoot film.  A LOT!  Believe it or not, I shot film all the way until we moved to Colorado … which was only 6 years ago {light years in the photo industry}.  I used to develop some of my own film or send it to the lab, and when it returned, I was like a kid on Christmas Morning.  As long as I can remember, we had a Polaroid in our house.  I admit.  I have a very unhealthy addiction to Polaroid cameras.  We won’t discuss why they stopped making the film or my longing for them to begin remaking it. I love how it creates instant gratification of the image you just took – or how no matter how modern the setting is, the photo still looks vintage.  My parents have piles of photo albums from my childhood years.  All of them contain a healthy dose of Polaroid images.

A few months ago I got the Fuji Instax Mini Camera.  I have been having a blast with it – and literally have a few hundred of these awesome sized credit card images laying around.  I am trying to devise a really awesome plan of what to do with them – but until then – it makes me feel like a kid again … and brings back the creativity of shooting with film.  Here’s a few of our recent adventures.  Enjoy :)  P.S.  Go do something to make yourself feel like a kid again today.  We all need to revisit that time now and again.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

I hope that all of you have a fantastic Easter with your families!  We are going to enjoy Easter tomorrow … and I am cooking a big meal for my parents to come over as well.  I’m thankful for all of the meanings of this weekend (Thank you God), my family, and our first Easter Egg Hunt {pictures to come}.  Until then – here is a little photo from my iPhone of Ava.  Her Nana sent her a gardening kit complete with boots and hat for Easter.  She loves it :)

LOVE

To me … Love is a lot of things.  It’s a Mother or Father, best friend, brother, ice cream, Cherry Coke Zero, Polaroids, or my iPhone.  But it all starts innocently.  I sometimes wish that I could see the world from my daughter’s eyes.  She is so charasmatic and open to everything!  The smallest things are an experience for her!  I am forever greatful for the things that she makes me cherish.  A best friend is one.  From the magical golden Colorado Sunlight, to the tall grass blowing in the breeze … this shoot brings me back to reality.

My beautiful little daughter had a friend in town the past few days. Today was her first day without him.  Let’s just say, she thinks life was better just a few days ago … as she held her best friend’s hand :)

MAKING THINGS HAPPEN 2010 WITH LARA CASEY

I’m a determined person.  Like really determined.  I am that girl you see on Undercover Boss who is married to their job.  Not because I really want to be married to my job (Lord knows I love my husband to PIECES), but because I really really love my job.  I’m the girl that can’t wait to respond to emails, or see what is happening with my peers through their own personal blogs.  I want to grow.  I never want to become stagnant.  I push myself.  Hard.  Harder than any one person should.  And quite possibly, these are the things that make me love my business the most.  I am determined.

I had the opportunity last week to go to Making Things Happen Tour that was in Denver.  I’m a huge fan of Southern Weddings Magazine – and because of that, I have become a huge fan of Lara Casey (the editor).   Her blog is uber inspiring and always a lift in the midst of a busy business life!  I learned a lot about the fire that is within – and just how to push yourself to become more productive, and grow.  Jeff Holt is a fantastic photographer who shared his story, tips, determination and more.  Overall, the day was pretty amazing for me.  The workshop wasn’t really about business or taking good pictures – it was about your own personal growth and potential, which is something I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about.

A huge thanks to those of you who I learned from and shared with at MTH2010 in Denver.  There’s a lot of reasons why I want to do things and do them well – and here’s my biggest one (from St. Patrick’s Day with my point and shoot) :)

Krystal Radlinski — It was so nice to meet you at MTH! Hope you have started some of your "ideal days." So far I've managed to finally clean up and de-clutter my office (trust me no small feat). Hoping this is the first step in a less stressful life! P.S. What a cutie patootie!   ( March 24, 2010 @ 11:36 pm )

COLORADO, OH HOW I LOVE YOU!

I love Colorado.  I just do.  I knew it from the very first time I came here.  Matt had an internship here when we were in College.  When I came to visit … it was like love at first site.  We picked up our lives and moved here straight out of college, just married, and set up shop.  I wouldn’t change a thing.  We love the outdoors.  We LOVE the mountains.  Two weeks ago we headed up to Keystone for a day of skiing (and Matt Boarding).  This is what I caught with my iPhone on the way home.  I really want to frame this one.

I’ll be out of the office today at a workshop – but will be back tomorrow!  Happy Thursday!
